All gifts to Metanoia wil be matched 1:1 up to $100,000 through December 31, 2024.
Together, we can continue to reverse decades of under-investment in Chicora and other historically Black neighborhoods in North Charleston, ensuring every family has the opportunity to live well in a place they are proud to call home.
Like too many other historically marginalized communities, its people, places, and partnerships are often undervalued or even unrecognized. Over time, this can create a sense of diminished possibilities.
For over 20 years, Metanoia has served as a reliable, trusted partner in co-creating opportunities for a thriving North Charleston. Through the 2024 Amplify Giving Challenge, you can support this critical work as we:
Listen to the community’s aspirations and honor their strengths.
Develop affordable housing for families to thrive in the neighborhoods they love.
Foster youth leadership and create economic opportunities that last.
In 2025, Metanoia will:
Operate daily afterschool programs and a summer CDF Freedom School for more than 100 students.
Complete 10 affordable homes for first-time homebuyers in Chicora and repair 10 homes for homeowners on fixed incomes.
Begin construction on the Old Chicora School renovation project to house the innovative Cristo Rey High School and a 300-seat auditorium to be shared with the local community.
